After Iceland, we flew over to New York, for me it was a chance to visit Daryl and have free accomodation :-) And the boys wanted to party.. which they did very successfully. We spent 6 days there in total? was great.. Daryl had to work during the day so I just walked and explored and took photos. Loved it - although i guess I wasn't really 'blown away' by it. It was kinda a mix between London and Sydney :-) Really cool but I guess it's just not culturally amazingly different or anything, but the food was brilliant and the variety of places and streets amazing.

D's place was in midtown - just a few blocks from the empire state and the rockefeller centre which was brilliant.

One day I went to D's work to visit, and in the afternoon stopped off at one of the posh country towns. It was really beautiful and SO American.

The river which runs from the station.. which took me a fair bit of walking and swearing to find. I got off at the station expecting to find a cute little town which D had recommended and was met by a lot of blank stares by the locals. Finally, after a cab ride and a bit of a walk i found the river :-)

They like their American flags. The main bridge into the town had American flags lining the entire bridge - must've been about 100 of them!

Us.. in the pub. Which is where the boys spent the ENTIRE time :-) I would join them occasionally but was walking so much every day that I'd get exhausted and even feel asleep on the toilet one night!!
